Teach your children

My mother died August 14,2008. I know she is in heaven and finally not struggling to breathe. I know because of what she taught me about God. She was the best mom ever.
Mom had a way of getting her children to look into the scriptures. She used some very personalized translations of scripture.
Do you know where to find the verse she used to encourage us to sew well? Mom said "As ye sew, so shall ye rip." Her meaning being, sew well or you'll be ripping out your stitches. Now for Job 4:8 "As I have seen, they that sow iniquity, and sow trouble, shall ye reap the same." (ASV) That still says be careful what you do.
Another malaprop "Don't get scared;I'm coming with a quilt." Look up John 14:25-26
When I was a little child Mama would calm me down from my nightmares with an idea straight out of scripture. Mom would say "Think about good things like fluffy clouds,butterflies, bunnies and balloons." Here's your memory verse; the idea still works today.
"Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Phillipians 4:8 NIV
Heres a memory verse for this month 1 Corinthians 13:13
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.But the greatest of these is love."
